Cape Tribulation...

Hi Everyone,
Hope everyone is well! Any news from England? Except obviously the awesome Man U win!!!!
Today was soooooo nice! We got picked up from our hostel at 7.50am! I was on time again!!! Three days in a row... GO ME!!!
First we drove out to Port Douglas to pick some more people up, the bus driver Brett taught us loads of bits and bobs on the way... mainly about Cane toads which was quite entertaining! At one point he stopped mid sentence and in a really thick Aussie accent went "wooooowwwwwww some weird shit just crossed the road" (I apologise for the swearing!) it was really funny though!
Our first stop was croculus, which was a boat down the daintree river that spotted and taught us about crocs! It was soooooo fun! We saw a HUGE croc he was about 4 meters long! We also saw lots of flying foxes asleep in the trees! Flying foxes are a type of quite large bat! We've seen them flying over both Sydney and Cairns!
After the croc tour we headed for the rainforest to walk through a specific path for a while! I saw a spider that was the size of my palm... AND IT WAS ONLY A BABY!!!!!!!! Would not want to meet a grown up version of that! lol! It was really interesting... pics to come tomorrow!
After that we headed up to Cape tribulation! Where I had fish and chips for lunch... although I wasn't entirely impressed with the fact they combined mackerel and reef fish in the same batter... didn't quite work! lol! We went to the cape trib beach which was sooooo beautiful! Obviously again like Cairns you can't swim cause of the crocs and jelly fish!
Cape tribulation was named by captain cook because he managed to get a massive hole in his boat here, he really didn't have a good time... you can tell from the fact everywhere around here is named really depressing things... like mount sorrow and weary bay! lol! He must have lost a lot of shipmen saving his boat due to the crocs and jellys!
Anyways, after cape tribulation we headed to mossman gorge! This was beautiful!!! You can swim in it! Although we were advised against it because (like every river around here!) it was really flooded and had very strong currents! Theres been alot of rain fall around recently... although the past two days its been clear! Its not that bad though cause its sooooo humid you really need it! Plus this only begins after about 4pm! Anyway, Rob swam in the river, I just paddled!
After that we headed back to Port Douglas, we had ice creams there, and I brought a necklace with a little turtle on it. I've made it into a bracelet though! On the way to Port Douglas we drove past a creek called Noah's Creek... I've decided that this combines two of my favorite things... Dawson's Creek and Noah!!! How awesome is that??? lol!
Finally we headed back to Cairns, along the coastal road. I think Brett could have done with slowing down a bit! lol!
It was a really really cool day, really interesting and we got to see a lot more of Queensland!
Tonight we're going to go to a mexican restaurant, I'm well excited I love mexican food! Owwwww I watched an episode of Neighbours today! Sooooo weird they've changed the start! Although I don't know where we're up to in the UK so can't really compare!
Rob has been my hero this week! HAHA! We've had two cockroaches in our room this week and he got rid of both of them! The room is spotlessly clean unfortunately this is just due to the fact we're in Australia, kinda comes with the territory! We saw some on the street in Sydney as well! So far in our friendship Rob has managed to save me from obviously killer hornets and now with the flesh eating cockroaches! Hes done good! LOL!
Anyways, tomorrow is our trip free day! I'm actually going to upload some photos... sorry I know I said I was going to do this yesterday but we ran out of time!
Lots of Love,
Sarah xxx
